"Future Leaders Learn Here!"

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

January 2017

Dear Lafayette Families,

I would like to wish you a Healthy and Happy New Year! January is always a wonderful time as it offers an opportunity for a new beginning and positive changes. It is also a time for goal setting, so I encourage families to talk with their children about setting a goal and help them to work towards attaining it. It does not matter how simple the goal may be; what counts is that students are invested in their own process of making positive changes and working towards meeting the challenges they set for themselves.

With students now a third of the way into the second trimester, it is crucial that parents and guardians keep informed of their child’s progress in school. Parental involvement is essential to every child’s success in school. Report cards for the first trimester can be accessed via the Genesis Parent Portal and should be reviewed. The main office can assist you if you need help with your Genesis Parent Portal login. If there are concerns about your child’s progress, you may request a conference. It is also important that children’s blue communication folders be checked for homework, library books, and other information.

Warmest Regards,

Ms. Weber

PIECES OF OUR CHARACTER

Each month, students learn about a different character trait that helps them to become leaders and role models within the school and outside in the Bound Brook community. As traits are introduced, they are added to the puzzle on display in the school as a visual reminder of the different "pieces of our character."

January is COURAGE month!
